@Sherwood Cutting this branch back in 2008, attracted a large variety of insects to feed on the sap. Just came across these old photos while cleaning up storage space on my PC. Bees were predominant, but there were also European wasps, potter wasps, flies and two species of butterflies.

Probably one of the last survivors of three nests under the eaves of the garage. Winter is a killer.
